The term 'mise en scène' refers to a technique in cinema in which the scenery tells as much of a story as the plot itself. In Christian worship, we can see a clear-cut parallel. The building of our worship is an important aspect to how we worship. Therefore, this section will analyze how elements such architectural aesthetics, lighting and mood, and various types of equipment can enhance or detract from a worshipful atmosphere.
